A meme for Monday

I’ve been tagged by Katie for a meme. Here are the rules:

* Link to the person who tagged you and post the rules on your blog;

* Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself;

* Tag 7 random people at the end of your post & include links to their blogs;

* Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

7 Random and/or Weird Facts About Me!

1. I think some cats and beans think I’m a cat. I’m not, I’m a bean who just happens to have the handle/nickname Black Cat! I love, love, love cats!

2. I chose this handle about eleventy-hundred years ago when I was privileged to be owned by a beautiful black cat (whose picture is the banner to my blog) called Oliver. He was my soul-mate so when I became a CB (Citizens’ Band radio) user Black Cat was the natural choice for my handle! During that time there was also a song around called Oliver’s Army (which I think was by Elvis Costello) and it became our theme tune when we were drivin’ up to them thar hills to increase our signal range. Imagine three people in a car belting out “Oliver’s Army are on their way, Oliver’s Army are here to stay…” at the top of their lungs. In the summer when all the car windows were open we got some very funny looks from other drivers at red traffic lights, hehehe!

3. I have double vision and have had four eye operations to try to correct this, with a certain amount of, but not complete, success.

4. I’m very clumsy, mostly due to #3, but I think it’s pretty well inbuilt! The throws on my sofa are stained with red wine, coffee, gravy, blood (see #5 below) and various other substances which I have spilled (doh!)

5. I fall over a lot because of #3 and #4 and have sustained various injuries from cutting my forehead open on a couple of occasions (hence the blood on sofa throws because head wounds bleed a lot) to breaking my left wrist on at least two occasions. I say “at least” because I think I broke my right wrist a few months ago but I was too ashamed to go up to A & E yet again so I self-orthopodded it.

6. I have an Evil Oven which caused these breakages by throwing me on the floor (the door sticks and then will unstick so abruptly that it knocks me over!) Kaze advised me to get a new oven but to be sure to interview prospective candidates to make sure they are not evil. The only thing is, if I buy a new oven I will have to get a new kitchen as well coz the darn thing is built in and the units are non-standard sizes (built by some crazy DIYer who owned the house some time before me, I think! If it was put in by “professionals” the then owner should have sued!) The EO also burns my arms on a regular basis…

7. I love reading cat blogs and I hear your voices in my head when I read them! (OK, OK, I know you get help, but even so… I am weird, I know!) Oh, did I mention that I love cats?

The End.

I tag (oh, this is hard, there are so many who I’d love to know their random facts and/or weirdnesses, so I’ll just pick at random!):

Mickey

Dr. Tweety

Luxor

Diamond Temptation Eyes

Jeter Harris

Karen Jo

Yao-lin

If you don’t want to do this, no pressure, please feel free to ignore it!

P.S. Does anyone know how to do hanging indents in Blogger? I draft my blogs in Microsoft Word and then copy them into Blogger but it won’t maintain some of my formatting.

That was lots of fun! We do know your a cat loving bean and we love that about you!

Sorry that you can't just interview a new oven. Stupid DIYers seem to mess a lot of things up. Just keep an eye on that oven though! You never know when its going to strike!!!!

hehe those are great facts. You sound as weird as my human. My human is clumsy but she cannot blame it on her eyesight. She is just a fat oaf.

I knew you were not a cat, but a nice lady that loves cats! My favorite kind. It was fun to learn more about you. But I am very worried about you until you get that Evil Oven out of your home! I hope you do not have to cook a big turkey inside the Evil Oven for Thanksgiving.

Double vision!! No wonder you burn yourself! Get oven mitts that go up to your elbows.Mom got a pair for the same reason. Replace your EO soon!!!! If it died you would have to replace it right? Right??
Start saving now if you need to :)
Item #2, I bet you had a ball doing that!!!!!

Ohhh, I know you're Penny! I just thought there was also a Black Cat blogging with you. I'm so blonde sometimes! *doh*

I loved reading your facts - your sofa sounds like a scary place to be, with all the drink and food stains...and BLOOD stains! :D

I agree with Kaze about getting a new oven - the one you have now definitely sounds evil!!

You poor thing! Gotta move slower maybe so you don't fall that much?
It seems like you do not have any owner right now?
If so, how come?
On the other hand - a seeing dog might be a better choice for you, hahahahaha...

Oh yes. We very much enjoyed this! We always like to see your photo and comments on our blog, but the black cat aspect confused (a few of) us.

But now we really love you because you are clumsy and use words like eleventy-hundred and self-orthopodded. (ML is a major self-diagnoser!)

Plus, you mentioned wine and Elvis Costello, worth eleventy-hundred bonus points with Mosaic Lady right there!

Great post!

I like No.1 and No. 7.

I think I am not cat, either~!
Or, I don't think michico is human, because I love giving her love biting every minute~~

I knew you weren't a cat from reading your blog. I enjoyed reading your facts. Thank you for tagging me. I will put mine up soon. Sorry I am so far behind in getting back to you.

I knew you were a bean those are some very interesting facts :)

O gosh - I just saw that you'd tagged me, d'oh! (I must have missed that in my comments.)

Actually, I did this meme some time ago; I'm not sure I can think of another seven things *about myself! ;-)

It was very interesting learning about you - I'm glad you love cats! :)

Ahhhh Black Cat I love being here right after my special mancat Mickey! I am very worried about your arm burn! You must do something about the EO!! Get some mitts that go up to the elbow for starters! My mommies son bean is named oliver:) After Oliver Reed that dashing English gent with those dreamy blue eyes! Oh and my Lapdaddy had double vision too for a while....the eye specialist did a debreedment on them and now he sees purrrrrfect! So talk to the eye Vet about this! Gosh I am goig on and on and forgetting why I came to see you...I hope you do not think me too ungracious of a kitty for taking such a long time to return your visit. You can only imagine how happy I was to see you come cheer me on while I was so very sick. Mommy was heartbroken and thought for sure I would not regain any of my spirit and was prepared for the worst. But I was worth a small miracle. With your purrrayers and some good medicine, I have regained my strength day by day. Mommy would not have made it through her worries about me without your comfort. Each night we keep you in our prayers and wish you endless Blessings this Thanksgiving season.
Love and hugs from our house to yours, Miss Peach and the mommy
who got such leaky eyes when she say my picture up top of your sidebar with the sweet pretty heart sentiment. I LOVE YOU BLACK CAT!

Hi there! Glad you liked my meme answers! I am a nip head, in a major way - it's like drugs for me!

Luke is settled at his new/old home - he stayed with his grandfather in the end which was great news all round - I know that Helen, his mum, was really pleased as she hated to unsettle him.

Thanks for asking

Hi there..I enjoyed reading your MeMe...you are having a heck of a time. I hope things get better for you real soon. Me and my mom done a MeMe, but we haven't had much response. Maybe it's because we are still new in the neighborhood. We will just have to work harder to visit as many kittie blogs as we can. We will be back to check on you...please be careful! Sorry, I just ramble & ramble. MEOW-MEOW

I am glad you enjoyed my meme answers. I think we must be kindred spirits, as we have so much in common. I do intend to include the introductions to the limericks in the book, as the response for doing so has been so positive.
