I have had that happen. I fixed mine with a shoelace, no needle required. Just poke the plasticized end of the shoelace through the holes and sew it up. It doesn't look great, but it works.

You'll all be pleased to know the phantom moccasin repairer has repaired them so they'll go on for a bit longer. Fortunately I had the right equipment to do the job and besides, men are much better at sewing than women. Well they are when you compare blackcat and me:-)
