Is it me?

…Or does anyone else have difficulties with that word authentication thingummyjig that you have to enter in order to post in some comment and message boxes? In at least 999 cases out of 1,000 I have to re-enter the blo wretched thing at least once. Is it because I’m stupid, or cross-eyed, or old, or a crap typist? Perhaps a combination of all the above, I dunno. Anyhow, I can see why it’s needed, what with all the spam and viruses out there in cyberspace. I do better with the “sum of x,y” one, so long as both x and y are under 10 (because I’m virtually innumerate, lol!).

You may remember that I wrote about coincidences in a previous posting. Well, I’ve had more since, which is what I was going to blog about when I wrote “Not the Blog I Had Intended for Today” (which I’ve now forgotten, lol!) but I’ve had two more tonight:

1. One of my friends on my MySpace page (warning: serious name-dropping coming up), who is a Very Famous Singer/Songwriter, writes a “Today’s Word” bulletin from time to time (today’s is Fletcherize, check it out, it’s interesting) and I sent her a message about it, to which she replied and we got into a nice little discussion. Anyhow, after that, the first place I go is to Luxor’s blog and lo! What do I find? He’s done a blog about a word too! “Stimuluxis”, what a cracking word that is and what super duper pictures of Lux playing with his pyramid, they made me go all squishy and “aaaawwwww”-y. Check out Indiana’s music too, I think she’s very good (and I’m not just saying that coz you said you enjoy reading my blogs Indi, seriously!).

2. A bit later I went to Kate and Puddy’s blog and what did I find? Pictures of food. To be specific, fish and chips, chicken nuggets and chips and calamari and chips. The coincidence? Well, I’d just realised that I was feeling hungry and that I had forgotten to eat all day (I do this quite a lot, lol!) so, mouth watering, I grabbed my empty coffee mug, went downstairs, made a cup of coffee and devoured the half pizza I had left over from yesterday. It didn’t quite have the je ne se qua that fish and chips would have had, but you know, it filled a gap.

Have a great Monday everykitty and bean. I’m looking forward to seeing Brainball’s first Mancat Monday, yay! Oh wait, I’ve just been there and he and Chairman Mao have already posted their Mancat Mondays. Super duper they are too!

You just reminded me I need to go turn mine off again - some really bad spam made us turn it back on (word verification) ...

Hi! What a glossy black cat you are!

Hehe, sorry about making you hungry! :D And I get what you mean about the word verification - I often can't figure it out, so many of the letters look alike! So that's why I have maths questions instead - much easier to figure out than weird squiggles!

:D

I also have some problems with the word verification. Sometimes I can't figure out if a letter is an i or a j or if another one is a w or vv. It gets frustrating sometimes. I think coincidences are fun. Thanks for dropping by my blog. I have seen your comments around and have meant to come by and visit you. I read your profile, too, and I think we do have some things in common.

I do not like the word verification thing either. Why does it always pick strange letters that are hard to read?

I too hate word verification, but maybe for a different reason than most... You see Mummy's Mum lost her sight a year ago and places that have this sort of feature stop her being able to take part in stuff she used to enjoy - speech to text computer programs can only do so much... Poor Nana! :(

Though Misty tells us that Nana's put her name down for a guide doggy! :) I hope it's as nice a doggy as Misty is, she just loves us cats! :)

I too hate word verification. Mostly I have to do it twice. Speaking of coincidences, I had shrimp & chips Saturday (which I hardly ever get) and Sunday morning found Kate & Puddy's posting. It made me want to go get some more!

We don't like wurd verrifikashun eithur -- you're right, it's great in stoppin' spammurs and suchlike but it's hard to get the word-ver right efun when you're sure you've gotten it right, eee-yaaagh!

Kool post about koinkidinks, and wasn't Lux's Stimuluxis a great word! And thankies so much fur the link love! I'm glad you enjoyed me and Brainball's first Mancat Monday. The wunnerful, tallented kitties at Zoolatry made me and Brainball up two beeyootiful photoportraits, so we're gonna post those and make Tuesday a "Two Mancat Tuesday!"
