Welcome to the Weather Service

We apologise for re-routing you to this website but unfortunately Black Cat's blog is temporarily unavailable due to adverse weather conditions. She is currently under 5ftins of snow. These are her recycling boxes yesterday afternoon about 10 minutes after it started snowing:

The sky was quite pretty:

This was the view from her bedroom window, which is a bit blurry because of the dirt snow on the window pane.

This was the view from the back bedroom window this morning when it got light enough to take photos:

And from the front bedroom window:

A couple of minutes later:

The neighbour using a recycling box lid to clear his path and pavement (sidewalk) outside his house:

Another view of the street:

Black Cat's recycling boxes this morning:

Part of front junk yard garden:

Look at that leaden sky:

We hope you have not been bored out of your skulls enjoyed this temporary break in the Black Cat's blog and will come back when normal transmission has been resumed.

In the meantime here is a short video (thanks to "Daniel", a commenter on Karen Jo's blog the other day, for the link. His blog appears to be inaccessible):

See original video, another video and details of the carrier here.

Yours sincerely,
The Weather Service
on behalf of:

:) xxx

UPDATE

How it looked outside at about 4.30 p.m. Snow not melted:

But all squished by traffic on the road and people walking on the pavements:

If it freezes again it will be like a skating rink out there tomorrow...

Black Cat luvsya and hopes these pix have been cooling for her friends who are suffering such a terrible heatwave in the antipodes and hopes none of you have been hurt by the wild-fires. Try to stay cool buddies :) xxx

That video cracked me up! We use a Sherpa soft-sided carrier that opens from the top or the sides. Usually I try to make my legs real stiff so I don't go in easily. The carrier in the video is ingenious!

Stay warm!

Hi Black Cat! How are you? I saw your snowfall on the news this morning. The most snow in 18 years, I think they said. We have snow like that from November to March here in Michigan. Trust me, one tires of it when it lasts that long! I am truly longing for spring.
Cute video! It gave me a much needed giggle! Hope all is well with you!

I heard about the snow and how it messed up traffic, flights, etc. My spouse was in England the previous week when the weather was good, and the folks he met with there told him this week that his timing was perfect, coming out when he did.
